In Balochistan, the urgency of climate action is starkly evident, with recent floods highlighting the region’s vulnerability. WANG is addressing this through a critical blend of community efforts and academic insights, particularly focusing on the energy and creativity of youth. The “Empowering Climate Resilience in Lasbela” project, a collaboration between WANG and the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives, recently held a significant workshop at Lasbela University. This workshop is part of a larger initiative to train 120 youths in climate resilience across the district, equipping them with the skills to lead local climate projects.
Key contributions from Dr. Dost Baloch and Dr. Aslam Buzdar, along with the dynamic facilitation by Badar Hassan and Khalil Roonjah, marked the workshop’s success. The blend of interactive sessions, group activities, and insightful presentations created a fertile environment for learning and engagement, particularly among university students.
