What is WIRE?

WANG's Women's Empowerment Program for Rural Balochistan
WIRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) is a WANG initiative, delivered through WALI, that focuses specifically on empowering women in rural Balochistan through digital literacy and enterprise development. It operates on a unique mother-daughter innovation model.
In communities where women often have limited access to technology and formal education, WIRE creates safe, supportive learning environments. Women learn practical digital skills they can immediately apply -- from using smartphones effectively to marketing handmade products online.
The program recognizes that when women gain digital skills and economic independence, the entire community benefits. Mothers teach daughters, neighbors inspire neighbors, and a chain of empowerment grows organically through trust and shared experience.
