At the Welfare Association for New Generation (WANG), we believe that education is the key to unlocking the potential of every individual, regardless of background or circumstances. Our commitment to this belief drives us to support marginalized students, especially girls in rural Balochistan, through initiatives like the Pakistan Scottish Scholarship Program.
Transforming Lives in Lasbela
In the 2023-2024 academic year, WANG proudly awarded 350 scholarships to girls from over 20 schools across Lasbela. These scholarships offer more than just financial aid; they provide hope and opportunity. In a region still recovering from the devastating floods of 2022, this support is a lifeline for young girls who are determined to continue their education.
The scholarship distribution event, held on October 5th, 2024, was an inspiring gathering of community members, parents, faculty, and local leaders. It was a celebration of resilience and a reminder of the critical role that education plays in helping young girls overcome socio-economic challenges. Since 2014, our partnership with the British Council and the Scottish Government has helped hundreds of girls progress to universities, an achievement that would not have been possible without this vital support.
