Second Dosti Sports Festival held at Bela.

This year has been full of activities at WANG, as our team is busy designing and implementing very creative projects for the children and youth of Lasbela. We are excited that every single day we reach to more children with our message and engage them in the process of social change.

Sports is our main tool to engage communities of children and youth. Sports is most liked activity by the youth in Lasbela, be it football, cricket or volleyball. Global Sport is being gradually recognized as a tool for education, training and community development, and in recent years, sport-based development interventions targeting youth have been growing. The profits sport provides to individuals and communities are multiple. For the young person, the sport not only provides opportunities for game and self-expression; it can also contribute to the physical and psychological development and can establish an alternative to harmful activities.

At the community level, sport can provide a platform for members of the community to come together, bridging ethnic, racial, religious and other divides, and can be a useful component of peacebuilding and social integration.

Dosti is one of the current projects with the support of British Council where WANG has partnered with 16 different schools of Bela tehsil and engaging these schools through the tools of sports-based learning.  under this project, WANG has provided sports kits and training to 16 school teachers. In schools, these trained teachers use WANG provided modules to teach students about health and hygiene, team and trust building and social actions.
